The nets are actually exceeding expectations. It’s becoming more clear that Simmons is a trade piece of value with his expiring contract. However, Simmons is viewed as a free agent that is injury prone. Does Simmons have veteran value to any team? Debatable! The Jazz just want 2025 picks or opportunities to increase their odds more than wanting Simmons. The Jazz have proven they are willing to play the young guys. What we have learned is the youth movements loses games as they are turn over prone.
Would the Jazz give up Clarkson and collins? I don’t see either as long term. The two 2️⃣ make the numbers work with Simmons. Clarkson is steady player and can score in bunches off the bench or as a starter. Efficiency can be an issues but his is cheap contract for a veteran that can give you 20pts off the bench for sure.
Collins is young veteran that can rebound and score at different levels. He is performing much closer to his contract. 30mm is looking cheaper these days with the new salary cap.
Simmons is way way way over paid. He would likely take a massive pay cut. This is where a team like the Jazz may try to see if he could fit with rookies. Add another rookie from the draft which is deep and look to the future. We know the Jazz are looking 👀 Rebuilds are tough!!!!
Would Ainge even do this for one ☝️ pick? He might demand two or three 3️⃣
