Celtics get:Daniel Gafford, Justin Champagnie, Keon Ellis Celtics trade: Anfernee Simons, Chris Boucher, Baylor Schierman, 2026 first, multiple seconds

Why Celtics make these moves: The Celtics have two objectives this trade deadline: 1. As always, make the roster better. There are two flaws on this team: the center position, and a consistent bench. These moves solve both, as Gafford is a super solid center that has started on a finals team, and they get two extremely underrated role players in Keon Ellis and champagnie. They do all of this without trading draft capital that is super meaningful (future firsts). 2. Save as much money as possible, ideally get out the tax. These deals give them a better chance to win, and get them out of the tax so they don’t have to keep paying the repeater tax. Perfect moves imo.

Why Mavs do it: Save $30 million in cap for next season, get a first, and get to try a good young guard in Simon’s to see if he fits with the core? Sign me tf up.

Why Kings do it: Again, they despise Keon Ellis for some reason, so they acquire a young guy in Baylor who has some potential and two future seconds.
