Why the Heat does this:
The Heat finally trade for a star, without giving up any of their main players. While I understand some will say this package is a low offer, LaMelo has missed more than 150 games over the course of his career and Miami will not be able to use first rounders in a trade for years to come, while also potentially dealing with chemistry problems since either Herro or Powell will become their sixth man and the roster will be extremely guard heavy. In the end the franchise is gambling on LaMelo potentially being the superstar they need to replace Jimmy Butler as their #1 guy.
Starters: LaMelo, Herro, Wiggins, Fontecchio, Adebayo
Bench: Mitchell, Powell, Larsson, Jaquez, Ware
Why the Hornets does this:
Charlotter has been tanking for years, and if LaMelo is unhappy I believe the best course of action is simply to let him go and keep collecting picks and prospects that can become important players for them down the line. This package allows them to acquire and develop Jakucionis and Jovic, while also getting two future first rounders from Miami that can be used in a trade or in future draft selections.
Starters: Sexton, Knueppel, Miller, Bridges, Kalkbrenner
Bench: Jakucionis, Green, Connaughton, Williams, Diabate
