It feels like Randle has been on a downward trajectory lately and his fit with ant has not been great despite a good playoff run. This trade grants the timberwolves some much much needed depth: 2 point guard, one who is a good and experienced playmaker (denis), one who could help them get back their defensive identity(elis) . They would get an energy and hustle big forward/center in Caldwell, an interesting kinda do-it-all older rookie in Clifford who could really help their bench unit and Demar who could replace a lot of Randle’s scoring and help in clutch situations. Wolves would also be much more flexible in trades for the next few years as right now it’s damn near impossible for them to trade without having to give up a key player. The Kings would get an all-star talent without having to give up any real draft assets, thus ensuring they could still be bad but have hope for the future. In an ideal scenario, they would be teaming sabonis, Lavine, Russ, Keegan, Maxine, monk, dillingham and Randle with a top 5 pick in next years draft and finally regain hope and excitement as a fan base.
