Lakers don’t need to make a big move unless it ensures them a absolute star which I don’t see happening.

This is a realistic move that helps both teams. Lakers add a lot of defense which they desperately need. A better backup big but splitting minutes between Rob and Hayes would be great so Williams can stay healthy. Matisse Thybulle is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and has always been a decent shooter but very low usage.

Blazers swap two expiring deals for two expiring deals so they don’t lose money in this. Thybulle and Robert Williams were most likely not going to resign with this Blazers team as they don’t fit the timeline. But they get a young 3point shooter in Knecht and a second round pick.
