I was trying to make a trade where the kings traded away de'aaron fox while still trying to stay competitive (which apparently is their goal), spurs got fox without trading away any important pieces, nets committ to the rebuild, and magic get shooting (even though he's shooting bad this season but hey 🤷‍♀️). It says for me that the spurs can trade away the 2028 swap for the stepien rule, but they have picks in 2027 and 2029 so that doesn't make sense to me maybe it's a glitch or am I missing something.

Why kings do this: Shams said the kings want "win now players" for De'Aaron Fox, so they can retool around Sabonis I guess (even though I think trying to win without a franchise player is kind of dumb and they would just become what the bulls were for the past 4 years at best). This gives them that with Cam Johnson who the kings could really use and some center depth, as well as draft capital.

Why the Spurs do this: I mean it's fox and wemby. As well as that the spurs don't give up any of their personal draft capital so they can protect their future if it blows up (which it probably won't). They also don't have to trade any important pieces like Castle, Vassell or Sochan, because Cam Johnson is more valuable to Kings than he is to Nets, they don't have to pay as much as they would without him in the deal, if that makes sense.

Why the Nets do this: The Nets obviously need to ship Cam Johnson to committ to the tank, they may ask for 2 firsts instead of 1 and 2 seconds, but I think it is a pretty good return for Johnson, as well as recquiring some developemental guys like Howard, Branham and Wesley. I don't think they would have a problem taking on Barnes contract either, as they are not gonna use that money anywhere else for at least 2 years.

Why the Magic do this: Huerter has been not great this season but has historically been a good 3 point shooter, which the magic need right now. And a change of scenery might be what he needs to get back to his best.
