I saw a similar trade online for this, but added my own flair to it. Denver has a depth issue rather they want to admit it or not. They do not have a KCP replacement

Why Hawks say yes: trade two SG/SF starters for one in MPJ. This opens up starting room for rookie Risacharie. Also gives future assets in frp, Pickett young player and a frp out all year in DaRon Holmes that no longer fits Denver's timeline but fits Hawks.

Why Denver says yes: MPJ injury concerns, contract and fit have all been questioned. This trade will allow Denver to secure a starting 5 that makes sense. Obviously, Jokic would be thrilled to add countrymen Bogdan Bogdanovic and he is a perfect fit for this team. Some may say he can fulfill the KCP role even better than KCP! You do lose some of that offensive firepower from MPJ to DeAndre Hunter but Hunter is a solid SG starter that still provides spacing on the team.

Overall I think it makes sense for both teams present and future goals
