Disclaimer: I do not think the pistons should do this trade. They have a great young core and need cap space to resign duren and Thompson. I hate when young teams are buyers too quickly but they are amazing right now.

Pistons: get one of the best front court defenders in the league. Paring AD with Duren would be sick. My one worry is that moving off of Harris and Levert hurts their spacing which is a major part of their game plan to unlock Cade’s potential. With ADs age and it being well known that the Mavs are looking to trade him I think this package is fair or maybe throw in another FRP. This trade solidifies the Piston’s position as a prime Eastern Conference Contender for this season and next. Hardy is included to shore up the bench lineup and give the Mavs more cap relief.

Mavs: get a solid return of win now players, a young stud in Ivey who I am still high on, and some draft capital to allow for the further acquisition of young players to pair alongside cooper flag. I’d want more if I was the Mavs personally but it seems like their asking price is decreasing.
