Lakers get: Nic Claxton, Josh Green, Keon Ellis Lakers lose: Rui Hachimura, Dalton Knecht, Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, 2031 First, 2032 2nd

Why this is beneficial: These trades gives LA there center of the future on a good contract, and also role players in Josh Green and Keon Ellis, two guys who are good 3&D role players that have given good minutes to there teams. They only concede one pick, and kill two birds with one stone, and don’t give up anyone super valuable. Rui would be missed, but would’ve likely left in free agency and doesn’t fit what the team needs.

Why the Hornets do it: The Hornets in this deal lose two solid players in Josh Green and Tre Mann, but they aren’t big pieces to this hot streak they have gong on now, and they acquire Rui Hachimura who is a good role player that would fit in with there young group as a good off the bench scoring forward, and they also save $17 million in cap space for next summer that they can use in helping resign Rui, and Sexton, or they can use in other ways.

Why Kings do it: The Kings are a pretty confusing organization that wants to part with Keon Ellis and don’t give him minutes. In this deal they acquire another good young scoring guard in Tre Mann, and a second round pick.

Why Nets do it: They get expiring contracts to expand there cap sheet next season even more, and also acquire another valuable long term unprotected first round pick from the Lakers in 2031 and second in 2032.
