Sexton gives Detroit instant scoring and downhill pressure. He’s a microwave guard who can create his own shot and attack the rim. The downside is playmaking and defense are still inconsistent, so he’s more of a scoring combo guard than a full floor general. For a young Pistons roster, he adds offensive punch and pace
The Bulls are pretty guard heavy, so flipping Sexton for a wing like Kispert balances the roster better. Kispert gives them reliable perimeter shooting, off ball movement, and size on the wing, which teams usually need more than another ball dominant guard. Plus, grabbing a couple second round picks adds a bit of future flexibility, which is always useful for trades or depth moves later.
The Hawks make this move because they need more perimeter shooting. After losing Kennard, they lacked consistent floor spacing, and Huerter fills that gap while also adding ball movement and familiarity with the system.
