Bucks are cooked...

SUCCESS

and this mock comes nowhere close to helping them fix it, but at least I tried. Also disregard the Micic trade alongside the GTJ, Prince, Myles Turner and Gary Harris signings, I just did those to keep the roster up to date.

So weirdly enough I like the moves the Bucks have made, the problem is that they aren't moves that push the needle for them and honestly I don't know what move they can make that'll even do that. Well, at least I'll always know that being able to diagnose the root of the problem is the first step to (somewhat) fixing it.

So what is the problem in Milwaukee? Well a lot actually. Firstly Giannis cannot operate as a screener nor does he have any off ball qualities that help this team, whether it's a lack of knowing how or a lack of desire to do so he just cannot operate without the ball in his hands. So my simple peanut brain solution is go back to the old but reliable "put the ball in Giannis' hands and surround him with shooters" half court offense.

What's the next problem? Age, Kuzma and lack of rotational players who can be that release valve for Giannis.

Well they at least successfully got younger after cutting ties with Dame and separating with Brook Lopez, but the Kuzma contract, man that is parasitical. I mean who even wants to take on that shit? No one wants that shit. Well actually maybe one team would but they'd need to attach a pretty convincing draft pick and the circumstances have to be just right, enter the Wizards, again. The Jrue for Simons trade gave me a thought "Why not just ship this dude out to the same team again? They're not in any rush" and so I did. Kuzma for Kispert is a sad upgrade for the Bucks, Corey doesn't have half the capabilities that Kuzma does and that's honestly such a relief to hear. All he'll be is a simple spot up shooter who'll occasionally remind you he can dribble and do more things but he doesn't do it because he's not very good at it, and coming off the bench that is a putrid win for the Bucks.

And the next problem, the players.

The crop of talent in Milwaukee is just so sad. They've got guys who'd be the 7-8th man on other tems playing 30mins a night, and they also let go of Ryan Rollins who I really liked, this team stays fumbling. My band-aid cover fix to this acl tear that is the Milwaukee Bucks is the arrival of free agents Dalano Banton and Lonnie Walker, alongside Jett Howard from the Magic. Are they wowing? No! Will they help? In a team as barren as Milwaukee, actually yes. Walker is still the undersized one dimensional scorer he's always been but considering bench depth is sorely lacking in Milwaukee he could actually be a serviceable talent. I've already spoken on Banton's abilities in a previous Milwaukee related post but I like his game, he's a tall Point Guard who can play off ball, can dribble in traffic without panic, can run the offense a little bit and is defensively aware and will always try, a really cool piece to have whether in Milwaukee or somewhere else. Jett Howard is a project gone awry in Orlando so he'll probably be easy to snatch especially considering they just added more talent this draft, why not right? I mean his upside is a potential movement shooter who can create his own shot off the dribble so where's the harm?
