As for the spurs, it is a bit confusing to take on Lavine's contract but what does happen is that by the time you reach the 2027 FA, you have a bunch of tax space. The 2027 NBA FA is incredibly loaded, so that's a plus for them. Also Lavine brings experience to a young team as well as some shooters, which the Spurs really lack. Trey Murphy III brings in some more defense, and that would all cover up for Lavine's defense. The spurs lineup next season could be big and balanced:
