The Blazers, assuming they don't Trade Damian Lillard, are likely looking to find a star to pair with him. Lavine has slightly declined over the years, but he is still an almost 25 PPG scorer on ~38% from 3 that can definitely help this Blazers team.

Why the Bulls do this:

According to Jake Fischer, the Bulls could potentially emerge in the Harden sweepstakes. I do think this is a weird idea, but I sort of see the vision if the Bulls want to try and win this season, since they will need a point guard due to Lonzo's knee not working anymore. They also clear up a slight amount of cap space, and only have to take on Harden's deal for one season instead of having to pay lavine for the next 4 or 5.

Why the Sixers do this:

This part only really happens if the sixers want to do a rebuild because the clippers are offering more veterans that could help to win now. However, I do feel like this package is much better for the sixers than the clippers package, as Simons is another young guard to replace Harden next to Maxey, and they get multiple firsts.
