Why the Spurs do this:

They had interest in Lauri last offseason and I could see the interest still being there, especially now with Fox in the picture. Lauri is the perfect type of big that fits next to Wemby. Even though he is overpaid, he’d go a long way towards title contention in San Antonio.

Why the Jazz do this:

Lauri’s trade value has undoubtedly went down. As a result, I think getting a guy that can be rerouted for more assets(Keldon) a solid young player(Sochan) and a first seems like great value for Lauri at this point in time.
