Lakers are looking to solidify their core for next season, and rumors have them pursuing Dan Hurley as their next coach. How about they play a little now-and-later?
Lakers trade Jared Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, the #17, an extra 2nd round pick they have next year, and a swap (not trade) of their '26 first. In return, they get verified 3-point scorer Bojan (older, but on a 1 year deal) and reduce overall salary. They also pick up the #5 and #38 picks in this draft, which means they could (overall) get younger, and would probably be able to add a good player in Clingan/Castle (at #5 if available) and/or Newton (at #38) so Hurley gets a rookie who can develop, but who also has buy-in on the system / help push some of the vets / develop with the team. Losing Vanderbilt hurts, but both he and Vincent were injured most of the year, and this deal (oddly) adds roster depth without fully giving up future assets.
DET just hired Trajan Langdon, fired Weaver, and are in the middle of a reset. Instead of taking another #5 pick, they get the #17, #25, and get both their picks back for next season so they aren't hampered moving forward as they reshape the roster. 2 firsts, along with a future first / second isn't a bad return for this draft (which is lacking top prospects but seems deep on role players), but you could add a future 2nd to DETas well if you feel this is too short a return.
NYK takes the Bojan contract and turns it into 2 younger assets in Vando and Vincent; They take on 2 million (or around the cost of the #25 pick) and get another good defensive frontcourt player in case Hartenstein/Precious leave or Randle gets hurt. They give up their 2 lowest picks this year, moving the #38 this year forward to the LAC 2nd next year, and turn the current asset of the #25 pick into a future asset of the '26 Lakers pick swap.
