SUCCESS

Why Dallas Does This: At this point in Luka's career, every season the Mavs don't at least make the Western Conference finals can be seen as a disappointing year. I truly believe from top to bottom this is the deepest roster in the NBA, but if I were to pinpoint one position this team can strengthen in it's the 4 spot. You want to have a suitable replacement if one of Naji or PJ misses time which has happened, and both were missed in those games. Insert Finney-Smith, who's one of the best 4/3s available on the market. Obviously he already has a deep connection with the Mavs organization, but besides that he's gonna bring another floor spacer that can play alongside Luka & Kyrie while also giving the team another tough alpha dog that players like PJ, Naji & Gafford already bring. Trading Omax will be tough, because he is a player that has been slowly getting better, but just like Josh Green I don't know if Nico Harrison and this front office will have the patience to wait for him to become an impact player. This is a win now move.

STARTING UNIT: L. DONCIC/K. IRVING/K. THOMPSON/P. WASHINGTON/D. LIVELY

BENCH UNIT: D. EXUM/Q. GRIMES/N. MARSHALL/D. FINNEY-SMITH/D. GAFFORD

Why Clippers Do This: It's no secret that the Clippers have been trying to improve their roster with putting Tucker's $11.5M expiring contract on the table, but they haven't found any takers. If they are willing to include draft capital along with PJ then just like in this trade scenario they could get a rotational player. Maxi can be a very hot and cold player at time, but he still offers positional versatility and can still space the floor. This is really a trade that I don't believe hurts the Clippers at all, they're giving up almost no value in Tucker + one future 2nd round pick. As a coach that puts pride in defense, I believe that Ty Lue would actually really love a Maxi Kleber to insert in his lineups. This one of the better ways for the Clippers to improve their roster without giving up true valuable pieces.

STARTING UNIT: J. HARDEN/T. MANN/K. LEONARD/D. JONES JR/I. ZUBAC

BENCH UNIT: K. DUNN/N. POWELL/A. COFFEY/N. BATUM/M. KLEBER

Why Brooklyn Does This: The Nets are in selling mode, with the Sean Mark having already dealt Schroder to Golden State for Melton & 3 future 2nds. I do realize that the Nets would want a first for Dorian, but I don't know really how many teams in the league would want to do that for a 31 year old who's technically on a expiring deal (Has a $15.3M player option for 25-26). Omax has show upside here and there, but he needs consistent playing time to fulfill his full potential. With Brooklyn in full rebuild mode, he would get those much needed consistent minutes. This is a player the Mavs organization trade up to draft, so I know it would be difficult to part with him for the Mavs. Brooklyn also receives a 2025 2nd via 76ers which is currently the 36th pick in next years draft, with Jared McCain suffering a torn meniscus and Joel Embiid not being able to stay healthy this pick could very well end up staying in the 30s. Getting a young controllable forward with high upside and two 2nds for Dorian is honestly a solid package.

STARING UNIT: B. SIMMONS/C. THOMAS/C. JOHNSON/J. WILSON/N. CLAXTON
