Denver has been playing well of late but still can’t shake a glaring flaw, their offense when Jokic is on the bench. Outside of Jokic, Denver has always struggled to find a second shot creator. In the playoffs Murray has been typically reliable but as we saw last season and early this season, he’s not always on. And with a thin roster, it’s hard to find any other options. That’s where LaVine slots in. Zach LaVine is a rare blend of a low maintenance scorer. He possesses the ability to score off the dribble but also off ball. He’d fit right into an offense facilitated by Jokic, Murray or Westbrook. Defensively he’s seen as a liability but maybe Michael Malone can change that, after all just look at how he’s transformed Westbrook.
The Bulls are fully on reset here. They’ve had a good stretch this season but the writing was on the wall. This time last year, LaVine was deemed ‘untradable’ but they’ve successfully showcased his and Vucevic’s value this season.
The Pistons get an upgrade from Tobias Harris. It may not seem like much but Porter is a better shooter and his length could prove very useful against tougher teams in the playoffs.
