Hield/Brogdon/Porter Jr Three-Team Trade: Fixing Three Problems in One Trade

SUCCESS

Why the Celtics do it? They lose a good player in Brogdon, however, with reports coming out of him being unhappy, it may be best for them to move on from him at the right price. By bringing in Hield, they save themselves a few million dollars while also bringing in a perfect complementary piece to Tatum and Brown, as Hield could come in and put himself in a position to potentially hit 3.5 to four three-pointers a game at a high average.

Why the Rockets do it? Getting rid of Porter Jr. is a big win it's own right and getting themselves Brogdon in return would be awesome, as he's a very efficient player who plays well on both sides of the court. They are taking on a lot of money here and his contract does span the next two years, however, that would keep the Rockets in-line to have financial flexibility when Green's and Sengun's new contracts likely kick in.

Why the Pacers do it? With recent reports that the Pacers are trying to move on from Hield after being unable to reach an extension with him, the Pacers being in four-second round picks for him that they'll hope turn into something decent. Of course, Porter Jr. would be brought in and likely be automatically cut by the team, the real return here being the second-round draft picks.
