Ok before Nets fans explode and say no way this deal happens & Nets pass let me explain. The alternative is Kyrie walks for nothing this off season as an UFA.

Remember last year when Kyrie took time away from the team. All around the time the Harden trade was being discussed.

Whats not known to public is the behind the scenes battle of the superstar GM. Durant wanted to trade for Harden. Irving wanted to keep J. Allen & didn't want Harden trade to happen. As we know J. Allen was traded to Cle & Nets defensively has suffered. Harden has come in & Irving is the 3rd wheel. Also by doing Harden Trade Nets have 3x Max, 2x super max guys & nets owe a $130mil luxury tax bill. The hard cap & salary for entire roster is less than Nets tax bill. And thsts w 30% discount bc of Covid the nba owners decided to let teams go over cap to earn more $$ bc fans were not going to gms. Ofc this 30% discount will end next season.

Enter J. Harris & fact nets have been shopping him all year. Reason is the tax bill owed. Besides Harris Irving is owed 35mil and has used vax rules to get out of playing for the Nets. When the nets talked sbout trading Kyrie, Irvings camp leaked that he would just retire. Kyrie has player option this off season & can walk away from Nets & they would get nothing in return.

Many GMs speculate the real reason Nets let Kyrie come back was to induce better trade offers. Again the problem is Kyrie has all the power & leverage to pick what team he wants to go too. No team is going to give up assets for Irving for 35mil without a long term commitment.

Ofc publicly nets KD & GM of nets put on a good front. But privately they are fed up w Irving & his antics & KD & Irvings relationship has deteriorated tremendously since Hardens arrival.

The real reason Irving is upset w nets is that KD has all the power behind the scenes & Irving did not get his way with vetoing the Harden trade. Do you all remember when Irving took time off from basketball for personal reasons pre pandemic.

All this was brewing pre pandemic but the pandemic gave Kyrie the excuse he needed to simply not play. Irving is proving his point that he was right & the trade for Harden was a mistake at the expense of the big guy J Allen. Plus all the picks nets gave up along w other depth.

Say what you want but the relationship with Nets and Irving is fractured tremendously. Plus on top of that he can't play in NYC nc of his vax status. Again ky is not anti vax. He just used this as his way to get out of playing. He does NOT want to be in BKN and NETS are sickbof him & not getting the vaccine & putting team first is all you need to know that Kyrie has 1x foot out the door.

This is why Vegas Odds have Cle as favorite to get Kyrie. Cle OH is Republican governor and no vaccine mandates. Though once he joins Cle wouldn't surprise me for Irving to get his vaccine.

Remember Kyring won Cle its first championship & Irving & the city got along great for 8 yrs. It was Lebron shadow Irving wanted to escape. He wanted challenge of being the guy. It didn't work w Celtics. He wanted it to work w Him & Durant but now hes the 3rd wheel on a super team. Even if they do win, its not earned like Giannis title or Lebrons Cle title. Plus nets pay double the amount of hard cap w a $130mil tax bill.

Kyrie Irving needs to be challenged & have something to play for. I would say beating Lebron back home to Cle to be the #1 guy along w this young core of J Allen E Mobley D Garland I Okoro L Markkenan C Osman L Stevens D wade are ALL UNDER 25YRS OLD and Cle has all its 1st Rd picks, multiple 2nds and are under the Cap. Kyrie has the perfect situation to come home to Cle the team that drafted him & be the guy.

He could literally lead Cavs to multiple titles with this young core & supplant Lebron as being the grestest Cav ever. They would build a statue of Kyrie Irving hitting game winner in gm 7 in Finals.

Irving loved Cle when he was here. The fans loved him & coming back makes alot of sense basketball wise. Its the typebif Challenge that Irving lives for.

Before Nets fan say no way they wont trade him for that. Well remember that Irving can walk in FA next yr for nothing. He opts out and he can sign anywhere. Vegas odds has Cavs as the favorites.

Also by beating Lebron home to Cle.. next yr when James wants to hop on the Cavs band wagon to chase title 5 & 6, Kyrie will be able to say NO. This will be Kyries Team playing Along Garland Okoro Markkenan Mobley Allen, Irving will be "the guy".

Kyrie Irving loves a challenge and leading this young Cle squad to a title or perhaps multiple titles will cement his legacy & he will surpass James as greatest Cav ever. Lebron left Cle 2x.. Kyrie left only 1x time bc James then came back home... It makes alot of Sense basketball wise...

Nets fans need to understand... Kyrie has all the leverage. If they do not move him to the team he wants he can retire but teams arent giving up 35mil of assets for a rental for a guy who can walk at FA this summer.

So Nets make best of situation & trade j. HARRIS to get off his bad deal over next 3 yrs & give Nets Cap Flexability next yr. They Will also not owe a $130mil yax bill this yr.

They will waive & stretch Rubios deal to save $70 mil in luxury tax. By moving Love and a late 1st rd pick (basically Hou 2022 2nd rd pick is like a late 1st) & fut 2nds... They will take on Magics Expiring G Harris & Lopez.

G Harris can help Nets win title this yr & Lopez will too. Both are Expiring deals. If Nets really wanted to not pay $130 mil tax bill they could stretch provision both Harris & Lopez & Rubio. By sending late 1st & 2nds to Magic w Love next yr being on an expiring deal, loves rejuvenation will goto Orlando Magic where he will help their rebuild.

Besides getting Flexability on luxury tax bill this year, the Nets also get C Sexton who as a RFA will be able to be resigned or matched or sign n trade. KD seen 1st hand what Sexton is capable of when he lead Cle to a win vs the big 3 and scored 42 in a win. Besides Sexton Cle also sends a 1st Rd pick top 10 protected & a few ft 2nds.

Obviously nets fans hate this deal but at end of the day it is better than getting Nothing.

Irving will walk as an UFA this summer & Nets will get nothing back in compensation.

Getting C. Sexton , G. Harris , R. Lopez , R. Rubio allows Nets to use Stretch Provision. They literally could get out from a $130 mil luxury tax bill & have cap space next season & get draft picks back for all the 1s sent out in the Harden trade.

Look at it this way.. The Nets should win the Nba title or get to Finals w how much they spent but truth is the team is not better than Warriors, Suns, & Bucks. Nets dont have the Defense & Rim protection & looks like Kyrie was right about J. Allen. Also nets have no cap space & hardly no picks. Warriors are over cap more but they are built to win now & in future. Only team in worst shape than Nets are the Lakers imho.

Both teams are going to bebin bad shape for many years. This deal helps nets stay Title Contenders & gives them room to operate to get Rim protection they desperately need.

Cavs do this trade only if Kyrie agrees to extend & committ for 4yrs. 5 yrs if hes traded for he can get a 5 yr max deal. Irving at age 29 would be up again at age 34. Ultimately getting Irving back to Cle with him being "the guy" is a way to turn Cle into Title Contenders. Adding J Harris also makes sense with losing Love & Rubio & sexton in the trade, Cavs will have filled their biggest needs. Playmaker plus 3 & D wing.

If Cle pulled off this move at the deadline it would be one of biggest blockbusters ever! Vegas knows what its doing. Cavs are favorite to land Irving. And other teams wont give up assets for a non committal.

Irving going to Cle makes alot of sense. And it could even happen this off-season with a sign & trade so Irving gets the 5th year in the deal & extra $$. The one way it happens at the deadline is IF nets dont want to pay $130mil Luxury tax bill.

Joe Tsai Chinese owner who owned alibaba owns Nets. CCP may not want Tsai spending extra $130mil with new CCP motto of sharing wealth & evergrandes national disaster. Chinese billionaires are being asked to give more back to the CCP. A $130mil tax bill dont look good at all.

Besides the $$ from Luxury Tax...

Nets front office & KD are sick of Irving & his antics.. and that was broken b4 the vax mandates in nyc. The vax dont allow irving to play or get paid for home gms. So it makes no sense to stay in Brooklyn long-term & Irving will walk this summer for nothing. Unless Nets front office acts now b4 deadline.
