Back in 2017, Kyrie Irving wanted to man his own team, not be overshadowed by LeBron, so he requested a trade. The full trade was Kyrie Irving for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and a 2018 Unprotected First Round Pick (Collin Sexton). At the time, it didn’t seem like a horrible trade, as the Nets were expected to be horrible and that pick could have turned into someone great. IT was an MVP caliber player. However, the Nets were better than expected and the pick had a chance to be Luka or Trae Young but actually ended up being Collin Sexton. IT struggled with injuries and was never the same player. Kyrie’s tenure in Boston wasn’t great either so this trade might have been one of the biggest lose-lose trades in NBA history.
