Blazers use their great contractual situation (Dame, Deni and Clingan) to add another star in Kawhi. Adding Dame and Kawhi to a team which took great strides this season might elevate them to a serious western contender. Beal likely wants to play a significant role on a contending team like the new look blazers, adding another great contract. Shedding grants contract also helps a lot.

Clippers kawhi might not want to (potential rebuild) / isn't allowed to stay with the team (NBA punishment) and thus becomes available for trade. While having played a great season, previous injury concerns, age and leverage from his side (1yr left) might make the price cheaper in comparison to what a player of caliber usually demands via trade. Sharpe is a great young core addition with a lot more upside still. Grant is a capable player who could still fetch some picks or interesting players if the clippers where to repackage him.

Mavs giving scoot another chance and a better timeline to develop. Surrounding him with great vets like Kyrie & Klay in addition to some of the best developmental coaches like Phil handy, could get him back on track sooner than we think. With Portland adding Dame back into the mix, Deni getting a lot of ball usage and jrue being a capable ball handler as well, it doesn't seem like the blazers and scoot are the best fit for each other.
