Mavs: Mavs do this because Luka is the primary ball handler of the team, and if he keeps things up like this, he will get injured. Porzingis hasn't done much to help and some days the Mavs can be blowing you out by 30 and other days, Luka is the only one that has shown up. So By trading for Grant and Tomas, they relieve Luka as the primary ball handler. Grant is a guy that can score 20+ every night and he is very consistent in scoring unlike Tingus Pingus. Grant and Luka seem like a good fit to me and Tomas would be able to be the bench option off the bench when both Luka and Grant aren't playing. Tomas is extremely underrated cause he is a tall and decent defender and he is an excellent playmaker. He can get into the paint and can even stretch the floor at times.

Pistons: By adding Williams and a decently valuable first round pick, they continue their rebuilding phase. They even put a protection on the 2023 pick, which will convert to their 2024 second if they are still in the lottery in 2023. So its a W either way and they get a decent young player in Troy. With the right development, I think this team is going to be great in the future.
