I realize that the Mavs don’t have enough picks for this, and the conventional wisdom would be for them to accumulate picks while they wait for Flagg to grow… but what if they went completely the other way and traded for a core that has had some success and is still young? Ja and JJJ never inspired me as possible no.1s on championship teams… but maybe Flagg would grow into that role and could have a team that would be ready to contend early. Not all that serious but a thought experiment but obviously I don’t think Memphis would do this unless they got a PG trade-like bounty of picks (which the Mavs don’t have)
