The Lakers get off a couple not great contracts and give up a protected first to bring back a young all-star talent to try and help them get back on track and give someone for AD to play with once LeBron eventually retires.

The Pelicans get an expiring deal in D-Lo, a young player in Max Christie, and a future protected first for a guy who would have just left in free agency anyway.
