With Milwaukie wanting to go towards a more versatile style of defence, the struggle in the scoring trouble in the playoffs (also due to the injury’s), With Brook rumoured to be the odd man out in any trade is locks up the wing positions for the bucks. This trade also sees the Pels strengthening their bench with a championship calibre piece in bruce brown, but also their rim protection and 3pt shooting in brook lopez (fundamentally ending Jonas Valančiūnas tenure in New Orleans). The pelicans buying low on bruce brown only requires salary & a second round pick for the former champ.
The bucks should then target a tall forward/Big with their 23 pick in tomorrow nights draft, could be Kyle Filipouski, Bobi klitman ect.
The Pelicans are aiming to move away from the Brandon ingram era in NOLA and towards the Herb Jones (1st team all defence) and Trey Murphy. Should this trade go through the pelicans should target either Bub Carrington or Isaiah Collier (if he is available).
For the Raptors this renounces the contract of Bruce Brown effectively removing him from the books after he had the worst stretch of games in his career since the Detroit/Nets days. Had the Raptors moved him at the deadline maybe they would have gotten a first round pick for him but with his value as low as it is and with him openly not wanting to be there it’s for the best. With the spurs holding the Raptors 1st round pick this year (from the Jakob Poeltl trade last year) the raptors should trade into the late first early second round and select a high upside project, Adem Bona, Ulrich Chomche ect.
Would you consider this trade? What would you change? Let me know 👍🏽
