Who says no?

Kings get some much needed defense and physicality in DFS to pair with Domas in the Frontcourt and O’Neal gives them a sturdy two way vet to improve the bench. They lose Mitchell who hasn’t worked out as expected and Barnes who is just a poor fit with Keegan.

Nets get a young playmaking and defensive minded point guard in Mitchell since they are unable to trust Ben Simmons and in Hield they get much needed elite high volume 3 pt shooting at a position that fits along with Bridges and Cam Johnson. They lose DFS and O’Neal who are valuable, but cannot be maximized on a team committed long term to Bridges and Cam and who has just drafted Whitehead and Clowney. They give up valuable players, but add at actual positions of need.

Pacers losing Hield hurts, but after the trade demand and contract issues this offseason it may be best to get something out of Hield now before risking losing him for nothing. Barnes gives them a 2 way upgrade over Toppin at the 4 and a reliable veteran presence. Swapping Buddy for Barnes moves Obi to the bench and clears the way for Mathurin to play an expanded role.
