Why Raptors Do This: It is clear that Toronto is now the frontrunner for Damian Lillard. When Masai Ujiri is determined to get something done, he will get it done. Damian Lillard is the player that will deliver a title for the Raptors. He is the scoring and passing punch that will put their team on another level. He will make them a title contender. The starting lineup of Dame, GTJ, Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam, and Jakob Poeltl has so much potential. With a solid second unit to aid that, they can instantly make themselves a title favorite in a murky east. The Raptors are a superstar away from title contention and Dame is that guy. GTJ and Poeltl should improve slightly since they are still young are learning from the organization. Dame and Siakam should be All-NBA players. Scottie Barnes should take a 3rd year jump and become and all-star.

Why Portland Does This: Portland has received one major offer for Dame and it was absolute trash. Tyler Herro & 2 FRPs was all that they offered. It makes sense that they are muting out Miami. This offer is great for them. With OG signing this extension, they can make him a long term part of their future or they can flip him for great assets at the trade deadline. Gradey Dick is a player that they really want as a 3 and D guy to potentially play a role as the backup SF of the bench. 2 FRPs and 3 pick swaps is more that Miami has offered in assets so far. This is an offer that will outbid all other offers that Portland is getting and they should accept it to get the new era of their franchise started. This new era will be headlined with their franchise player: Scoot Henderson.
