Suns have struggled to put the right tools around Book since they made it to the finals. With this, they move off of Jalen and get a nice 1st (we are assuming it lands in the 8-12 range). The Suns could pick Mikel, Philon, or Flemings who i think all pair extremely well with Book. Taking Williams contract on does suck, but the defense he can bring in the right scheme could be amazing, and it’s not too late for a turn around. Fontecchio and Thybulle, both add very nice depth and defense which is needed around Book. I think their key to success would be to give Book the keys, and surround him with guys who can shoot and play defense and get one other guy to relieve prussure off of Book (the pick).
The Heat simply wont win with Herro. Bam is an incredible player but would be unlocked offensively with another guy with top of the line shot creation that Jalen has. His ability to get downhill would allow more production for their lengthy shooters who now look much better because they are relied less on to make the play with the ball. I think this immediately put the Heat on everyone’s radar because of what Spo could do with a fast guard that specializes in microwave scoring and getting downhill along with a big strong dominant 2-way player.
Bulls still have the Portland pick in the teens which they can take another impact player. Herro would be an incredible volume scorer and best movement shooter in the NBA. With them adding a talent like that they automatically are immediately in the mix for the playoffs next year. Fanspo says it can’t work contractually, but it’s wrong because of all the contracts coming off the books this offseason. Adding Noa, Middleton, Herro, and hoping Matas can take another step the Bulls could look scary.
I could see the point for all fan bases to say no because it’s a big gamble on fit and scheme. But I’m curious how you feel about it. Let me know what you think and I’m open to have a conversation about thought process or whys and why nots.
