Pelicans:
It's time to cut their losses; they have a good young core, and they gain assets to start again.
They get this year's FRP back. They can make a good run and end up as the 11th seed, making their own pick not as compelling to the Hawks. But they should just embrace it and the tank and rebuild.
They also get a superb young talent, a good young player, an expiring, and PG13.
76ers:
McCain is great, even when accounting for the injury, bad start, and all. It's just that he doesn't fit anymore. Maxey and VJ are clearly the future and present backcourt, and another talented undersized guard is not what they need right now.
Zion is amazing, and they get him for a bargain: PG13, McCain, and a future protected pick. I say this is worth taking a chance on. As a second or third option, he could have a decreased role and be less injured. If this pans out, Philly could go all the way.
Hawks:
AR is a bona fide star now. He is averaging 28, 6, and 7 (better than Edwards) while being solid on defence. He also led the Lakers twice to a win, scoring 50+ when Luka and LeBron were gone.
Could this pick be the Number 1? Yes, but it could easily be the Number 10. Plus, having the No. 1 pick does not guarantee a Superstar. These 2 facts are especially known to the Hawks fans.
They are also getting a FRP and giving NAW, who is really great, but nowhere near AR.
Lakers:
AR is amazing. Truly. He is a mini Luka Doncic! But this is also part of the problem, they are too alike, and share the same weaknesses. Murphy and Nickeil fit Doncic much more. And while he could help carry the Hawks to a deep playoff run, it's comforting that they are not in the same conference.
