The main issue on this Sixers team is that they don’t have a true number 2 scoring option, and Simmons is clearly not that due to his lack of shooting. Here are some moves that could fix those issues:

  1. Trades Simmons to the Trail Blazers for CJ McCollum and 2 firsts

Why the Blazers do it: They have a historically bad defense, and a DPOY-caliber player like Simmons plus Robert Covington should get the job done defensively.

Why the Sixers do it: They get future assets plus a true number 2 scoring option to Embiid, which would be a perfect scenario for this team

  1. Trades Seth Curry Tyrese Maxey plus two firsts for Malcolm Brogdon

Why the Sixers do it: They get a good defender, playmaker, and scorer in Malcolm Brogdon

Why the Pacers do it: This might sound like a hot take, but I believe TJ McConnell should be a starter. He would fit in nicely with the team, and you get a good backup in Tyrese Maxey, you get a shooter in Seth Curry to be a good compliment to McConnell when they are both on the floor together, and you get even more assets to potentially go after a bigger name on the market.

After these moves, the Sixers will have a lineup of:

Brogdon-CJ-Thybulle-Harris-Embiid with a bench of Springer-Shake-Green-Niang-Drummond
