Why Miami Does It: Until Erik Spoelstra leaves Miami, I don't see Pat Riley committing to a full rebuild. Kuzma can be a frustrating player at times, but he's been playing as a First/Second option pretty much his entire time at Washington. Now you put him on this Heat team, when he's going to be the fourth scoring option behind Butler, Bam & Herro and you're going to see a much more improved Kyle Kuzma. Losing Jovic would be tough because he has improved statistically every season, but he really doesn't fit the timeline of Butler & Bam. Robinson is a floor spacer that a I'm sure they'll miss, but if we're being real they've been trying to trade him for a while. The two seconds and Richardson are just in this deal to make the deal work.

Why Washington Does It: Look it's becoming more clear with every passing day that Kuzma sticks out like a sore thumb on this Wizards roster. With them prioritizing developing the youngsters by giving player like Bilal, Kyshawn, Bub & Sarr big time minutes, Kuzma just takes away shot attempts from them. Taking on a talented Nikola Jovic who has a ton of upside and at just 21 years old fits perfectly with the timeline of this rebuild, makes a lot of sense. He would fit seemingly at the 4, and I'm sure his MPG which at this moment is at 19.9 would easily rise to 27-29MPG on this roster. Robinson is a player that I'm sure just like Valanciunas would want to try to increase his trade value to trade him down the road. However if a trade never comes into fruition, then they can just waive him as he's only partially-guanteed for $9.8M after this season is over. Getting two future 2nd rounders would be a solid cherry on the top of a solid trade.
