Seems like Bron is headed to the Cavs. What if the Cavs added Brown as well?
Why the Cavs do this:
Nice clean homecoming for LeBron James. Vet min since if he cared about money he would’ve stayed a Laker. Set Bron as the point guard to go chase the assists record, and you have too many guards, so what do you do? Trade your MVP candidate guard in exchange for a guy just a couple years removed from a Finals MVP. Bron, Harden, Brown, Mobley, Allen. Starting 5 to be reckoned with. Adding Herb Jones as a bench piece rounds out this team very nicely.
Why the Celtics do this:
This is probably the best Jaylen Brown deal on the table. Donovan Mitchell should be a strong fit with Tatum and let the Celtics contend against the Knicks and new-look Cavs in the upcoming season.
Why the Jazz do this:
Utah seems to want to be good short-term. A sharpshooter like Strus helps them do that, and the Cavs desperation to stay under the second apron helps them acquire him cheap.
Why the Pelicans do this:
Trading a win-now player in Jones for a first-round pick is always a plus for a rebuilding team like New Orleans. Draft compensation can be adjusted, but they should probably be sending out some more assets this offseason looking for draft capital.
