In this trade, they do something a bit different. Rather than trade Lauri, they bring in “win-now” stars to play with Lauri. This sets them up to be a playoff contender in the West.

Why the Pelicans do this:

They get the big that they need, and they also add depth for Zion.

Why the Kings do this:

They add a solid 2 way forward that gives them a well-rounded starting 5.

Why the Raptors do this:

They get younger in their front court, adding players who fit their timeline.

Why the Trail Blazers do this:

They get good returns for Grant and Ayton, and adding in a potential Simons return, it’s possible they have 3+ FRPs in a loaded 25 class. Also, this trade sets them up in prime position to land Cooper Flagg.
