++What each team gets:++
Toronto Raptors get: Dillon Brooks and 3 second round picks in 2025, 2026, and 2027
Houston Rockets get: Bruce Brown
++Why each team does this:++
Toronto Raptors: While taking on Brooks' contract would make the Raptors super expensive for a tanking team, not only do they get 3 second round picks, but since the Raptors are one of the better passing teams in the league, I think that just like Barrett, this could boost Brooks and make him an efficient shooter which would improve his value a lot and allow them to flip him for maybe even a first round pick.
Houston Rockets: While downgrading from Brooks to Brown and giving up picks is off-putting, this would save the Rockets around 22 million dollars in 2025 and 2026. This, combined with declining the team options of Griffin, VanVleet, and Holiday as well as waiving Landale and keeping the cap hold of Sengun and Green, would give the Rockets about 50 million dollars in cap space, enough to sign a Butler or an Ingram (as a team that I think will be a top 6 seed next season). They could also resign VanVleet using the early bird exception and use the mid level exception to sign a solid back up center.
