POSSIBLE BLOCKBUSTER TRADE
WHY THIS TRADE MAKE SENSE FOR BOTH TEAMS:
WHY IT MAKES SENSE FOR PHOENIX:
Phoenix are in desperate need of a change here, and they don't have any valuable contract to trade but KD.
Suns are rumored to be looking for a starting center, and Rudy is that. A DPOY candidate every year, who impacts every team he's on defensively.
They also get Randle on this trade, a dawg who is a brute on the offensive end. He replaces Kevin Durant's offensive presence, and sure he's no KD, but at least he takes off a bit of offensive responsibilities off Book's hands.
This changes the identity of the team, from an offensive juggernaut group to becoming a defense-oriented team. Which I think, is a much better direction.
They go up in the draft and pick a Nique Clifford or a true PG like Nolan Traore or even Egor Demin if he drops that low.
WHY IT MAKES SENSE FOR MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
They just got eliminated again in the WCF, and just like the Phoenix Suns, they need to change things up.
They get KD, one of, if not, the greatest scorer of all time. Age doesn't matter for him, as he still continues to produce at a high level.
They give up two of their major players, but it's been proven that they can't run this team back. So they get a superstar who could help Ant at the offensive end consistently while not giving up McDaniels.
Trading Rudy means Naz Reid gets the starting spot, so they need to pay him. You could also get Clint Capela for a vet minimum or get a center in the draft who could contribute right away (Maxime Raynaud, Yaxel Lendeborg, or Joan Beringer?).
