Yes, with the Jazz-Suns pick swap it seems inevitable that the Suns will get Jimmy, however what if the Bucks swoop in in the eleventh hour and get Jimmy instead?

The rationale for each of the teams:

The Bucks

The Bucks do this for more reasons than just the simple fact that they are getting Jimmy Butler. They also become a first-apron team after this deal after cutting more than six million in cap. Losing Brook Lopez hurts but adding JV who is younger and better offensively at this point does help, plus he is on a longer term, team friendly deal. They also get rid of Middleton who seems to always be injured, and Jake LaRavia has been pretty good for the Grizzlies this year so adding him to the bench is nice. The one thing they do have to consider is the fact that they are really hurting themselves down the line by giving up the 2031 pick but this makes them more competitive this year for sure.

The Heat

This deal is better than the potential Suns deal for the simple reason that the Heat get their own draft pick back for either this year or next. This would give this franchise a clear path forward. Tank for two years and then go into the 2026 offseason with a solid rookie from this upcoming 2025 draft, another good pick in next year's draft, and 60+ million in cap space. Considering Miami is a free agency destination this could be quite a quick rebuild.

The Grizzlies

The Grizzlies do this to add veteran depth, defence, and spacing to their playoff roster this year. This deal keeps them out of the luxury tax and gives them the ability to potentially keep Lopez next season on a more reasonable contract. Giving up a few of these pieces hurts but given that they have had some injuries to some of their young pieces this year I'm sure the extra potential minutes would be nice.

The Wizards

It's clear that JV is not going to be on this team for the entire length of his current contract given how bad this team is. What will be helpful to the Wizards though is adding another two draft picks in this year's draft. This deal is a no brainer.

The Thunder

The rich just keep getting richer. This trade is similar to the deal that the Suns just made with the Jazz. The Thunder give up two picks (the Heat one either this year or next) and the least valuable of their firsts this year (most likely their own) for an unprotected Bucks pick in 2031 which will likely be very valuable given the Bucks current roster situation.
