As good as the Spurs are, they are lacking depth at the forward positions and could look to rectify this before trade deadline. They are currently relying on an aging Harrison Barnes as their starting 4 and could really use an upgrade before Father Time catches up

MPJ has had a red-hot start to the season and would fit great with the Spurs, providing shot-creation, off-ball scoring and most importantly, perimeter scoring. He has also proved that he can be a playoff performer which is something that Barnes is not

Vassell and Sochan are young players with great potential. They better fit the Nets timeline. This trade also gives the Nets much needed depth
