Outlook
The Cavs are a 2nd apron team with a need for improving the roster with limited possibilities to do so. While trades are much harder for teams in their position when involving players, draft capital is pretty useful to target. With the Thunder not having roster space for more rookies the Cavs strike a good deal for the near future at the cost of the long term. Losing Jerome and Merrill hurts but replacing them with a rookie and a minimum contract essentially cuts their tax bill in half. They also add a semi reliable big man for some much needed depth that they haven't had. They also add Alex Condon, Ryan Rollins and Keon Johnson on 2 way deals. All of this leaves the Cavs end up $17,889,096 over the 2nd apron with a tax bill of $145,396,819.
