WHY THIS TRADE MAKES SENSE ?

If Giannis stays, they have to win now, no matter what. Thus, with Lillard missing maybe all of the next season they have to find a new PG. Because Trae Young wants to (finally) be on a good team we can imagine a trade between this two stars. BUT Lillard is old and injured while Trae Young is younger and maybe in his prime. So, to have a decent and valuable trade, the Hawks want more. On the other hand, the Lakers who need a big man want to be part of this. Thus, they acquire Brook Lopez, a veteran who can guard the rim and shoot threes and, in all this trade, the Hawks acquire young players to developp (with Lillard to teach them) and can make a rebuild in order to turn the TY page. In this way, we can imagine that Porzingis can be traded later for picks or other young players.
