Overview: This trade helps the hornet move forward with a bright young trio in LaMelo, Zion and Miller (hoping that they stay healthy). NOP move on from Zion who hasn't seemed to be healthy enough for them to compete and get some nice pieces to hopefully win them games in Bridges, Williams. They also get picks to sweeten the deal.

Hornets: Charlotte have been down the bottom for a while but definitely have shown progress in their team overall. They seem to have found their stars in LaMelo (when healthy) and Miller who has shined as a bright young star. All this team really needs is some more support through youth to help this team start becoming competitive. This is where Zion comes in and this might be a bit of a gamble with all the health issues he has faced but if he can stay healthy the Hornets might finally have the foundation to build around this young three. Zion is a ridiculous lob threat and when you pair that with LaMelo's playmaking ability you get a scary outcome that oppositions need to look out for. Hornets would like to see more scoring inside and Zion adds that intensity underneath the ring that could elevate Charlotte going forward. All this team needs after this trade is a good supporting cast and soon we might see the hornets competing with Zion, LaMelo and Miller shining brightly.

Pelicans: NOP is struggling badly partly due to the fact they have struggled with injuries (Zion always being injured and Murray missing some time out) which has weakened their team incredibly. This team is really good on paper but they are unable to click and are struggling inside having to start a rookie centre in Yves Messi (who is actually playing pretty well tbf). Pelicans in this trade give up on the Zion experiment and trade their former #1 overall pick for some pieces to win now but also picks for the future. They gain bridges who is really a budget version of Zion but someone who you can rely on to stay healthy, with highflying lob catching abilities and the shooting to drain deep shots he is a nice complementary piece to pair besides Ingram. To help with their centre depth which they have seen struggle in they get themselves Mark Williams who not only is young but has experience in starting games. They also set themselves for the future after giving away most of it for Murray giving themselves flexibility incase they make a move on another star player going forward. Hopefully the Pelicans can turn their season around with this trade and see themselves compete like they have before.
