So to go into some details on each of these teams. The Celtics are desperate to get under the tax for this season and stay under next season while Simmons was an expiring deal they are 12 million over the tax. His money is the cleanest way to get under and he is not apart of the championship core you have kept in trying to get under the tax. While also sending Sam sucks to an extent you get a similar role player back in Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk on a much cheaper contract with 1 less year. Jusuf Nurkic is a cheaper expiring then Simmons but also a position need. He can help you this season that you're just trying to win as many games as you can, but also clears a lot of cap space for you next season and if he is impactful, you can maybe sign him to a cheap deal next season. Julian Phillips is simply a cheap contract filler for this deal since the Jazz can't take on both Sam and Simmons and help the Celtics get under the tax. He's maybe something that can become something that will last you the two year reset, you need. Making it so you don't have to pay someone else more to just fill the roster at the minimum. They pretty much always have to give up a first to get off of Simmons put a top five protected one is probably the best they could hope for.

The Wolves need of a playmaker, they get 2 for a somewhat costly price, but they weren't really gonna get a better situation anyway, unless the trade a key rotation player. They get better for the price of 2 project players and some draft capital to try and win right now. They have only improved the roster. They have to give up quite a bit to get both White and Jones. As I think the Bulls like Jones and his contract and they would definitely be reluctant to send him, but I think just getting White is too risky so this should be enough of an offer for both.

The Bulls capitalize on the Celtic getting Sam who they can flip for assets when needed, and in return for giving up very little and openings a roster spot without cutting someone to make the Wolves part of the trade happen.

The Jazz, come out feeling great as they add a young player and picks for 2 vets. And get to clear 27 million in cap for the offseason, if they want to.
