WHY THE HAWKS DO THIS:
They get a Ingram, a star who they can pair with Young. They also get a get a decent SG who can make up (and more) for the absence of Lou Williams. They do this without having to trade their whole team away, and they get to deal away Gallinari's large contract.
WHY THE CELTICS DO THIS:
They add Lou Williams who can help backup Jaylen Brown. Okongwu can be their big man of the future. They may not want to trade Smart. However, he is super injury prone, and if he doesn't start the season well they will want to trade him. Since Smart was inked to a 5 year deal this offseason, he is an obvious trade candidate if he does not play well.
WHY THE PELICANS DO THIS:
Brandon Ingram did not play his very best last season and in this trade scenario the Pelicans get an absolute haul. They get Gallinari who when playing his best can be a great sixth man. Hunter is a future all-star if he stays healthy. Plus, they get Marcus Smart, who can pair nicely with Zion. They can use Pritchard and the draft picks in a trade package for another star.
