Now this might be a stretch but before you judge let me explain.
I think of this deal as two separate deals in one. Myles Turner for Deandre Ayton and a first. The Suns don’t want Ayton, he doesn’t get along with the head coach. He isn’t heavily utilized in the offense.
Ayton’s days are numbered in Pheonix no matter what. But with a young PG, in haliburton and who like CP3 will feed him the ball, Ayton can thrive.
The Suns get a rim protected and floor spacer to go with their dynamic duo, I don’t think they lose anything by doing this trade in fact they probably help their defense. The reason. This trade didn’t happen over the summer is because it’s hard to give up on a number 1 pick, but now the clock is ticking with two aging stars.
The second part of this deal is, Fultz to the Suns for a first. Heild for Fultz straight up. Larkanan to Pacers for Heild and 2 first and a second.
The Pacers make this move because they add two players that allows them to play in multiple styles. They can slow it down and play in the half court which is something they struggled with this season. Two shot creators and people who can play well off of Haliburton. Giving up 3 first may seem like a lot but Boston and Cleveland picks will probably be no good and you’re getting two stars not in their prime yet. While only giving up two players who don’t really fit the teams timeline. This move also allows Mathurn to start it clears up space for him to be the starting 3 next to Nesmith.
The Magic trade Fultz who played well there but there’s a logjam at PG with Fultz, Suggs and Cole Anthony. This gives them a vet they can depend on to score and who can play with any lineup because he’s a shooter.
The Suns make this move to keep their window open longer. CP3 who is a hof point guard can mentor Fultz and hopefully that’ll extend their championship window. Fultz is a former number one pick who isn’t play that bad in Orlando.
The Jazz get an absolute haul for Laukanan who wasn’t supposed to make the Jazz that good. They were trying to tank. The Jazz get 4 first. All unprotected and a second. They also get a look at Bazely. I think the Jazz may walk away winners depending on what they do with the draft capital.
