Anthony Davis trade rumors have been swirling and this almost seems like the reverse of the Kawhi situation, where player and owner are debating over injury recovery timeline. Could a similar result happen where an AD trade results in a ring, or will he be stuck in another bad situation? That is what this series aims to explore.
Why the Suns do this:
We have yet to see Devin Booker paired with a true star big man. Phoenix builds this duo in the hopes of a sort of Kobe-and-Shaq Lite experience for their two stars. Davis also serves as a mentor for young bigs Williams and Maluach and makes the team better short term while their picks are still owed to various teams around the league.
Why the Mavs do this:
Jalen Green provides much-needed perimeter scoring in Irving’s absence on a timeline that is more aligned with that of Flagg and Lively, forming a big three of sorts that could lead this team to some very strong playoff performances in the years to come.
What do you think of this trade? Who accepts, who declines, and why? Let me know your thoughts in the comments and I look forward to discussing AD trades with y’all. Thanks
