SGA and Giddey are both really big guards and there’s no good reason they couldn’t play a 3-guard lineup with Russ, who is also no longer good enough to ruin their tank job. The lakers get off Russ’ contract completely, trade for a guard on an expiring (Dragic) who can be equally helpful to their playoff run this year, and open up max cap space the coming offseason

Edit: lakers are also getting a 31M trade exception, which means that if they want they could trade for 31M worth of expiring contracts without giving anything back. Probably wouldn’t even need to attach picks because those teams would then get trade exceptions.
