Giannis to the Wizards

First trade in over 2 months lol

The Giannis sweepstakes are underway! Let’s explore a team with a better shot at the Greek Freak than some might think.

Why the Wizards do this:

Washington has quietly assembled a team that could make some noise in the East next year even if they don’t make a move. Trae Young and Anthony Davis are solid veterans to add to an extremely underrated young core that is about to add Dybansta. But why not take that next step and go from a team that could make some noise into a real contender in Washington for the first time in decades? They acquire Giannis while still maintaining a pretty solid pick arsenal along with a great young core in Sarr, Johnson, George, Carrington, and Dybansta.

Why the Bucks do this:

Shaedon Sharpe and Bilal Coulibaly are two young players who still have sky-high potential, and Milwaukee is the perfect place to develop some possible future stars. Adding those two, alongside picks, while retaining Rollins and Turner, means Milwaukee is still probably a borderline playoff team in the East with a ton of brand new future flexibility and hope for the franchise.

Why the Blazers do this:

Portland gives up on Shaedon Sharpe here in exchange for Anthony Davis and two first round picks. Davis transforms this playoff team into a real contender alongside Damian Lillard and Deni Avdija short-term while actually adding to the future flexibility as well. Portland feels like a perfect fit for AD to be added to the frontcourt alongside Clingan.

What do you think of this deal? Who accepts, who passes, and why? Let me know your thoughts in the comments
