Why the Clippers do it:

They add freshness to their roster, defense and scoring alongside some role players

Why the Rockets do it:

Make use of KD whilst they have him and really push for a ring before he retires. This puts them straight into contention.

Why the Suns do it:

Use the opportunity to shuffle around their roster, getting in good shape for the next season as it's unlikely they're going to be contending this season anyways.

Why the Blazers do it:

Sell high on Jrue, allow Scoot to develop but still have Dunn as a great defender with Same coming back next year. Take advantage of owning their own pick in a strong draft, get some more PF help with Camara struggling a little and Grant railing to live up to his contract.
