This is way too massive and complicated to think it would actually happen but I do feel each team would do it. I'm trying to think about a time a team has ever obtained two stars in one trade. The Rockets have the firepower and flexibility to do so though.
WHY ROCKETS
Swapping FVV for Fox and Jabari Smith for Jimmy Butler to have a 2 piece of Fox, Butler, Sengun is a win. Though they trade away 4 1sts (some with stipulations) they have more picks to continue to adjust the roster however they see fit. They preserve enough youth in Sengun, Amen Thompson, Jalen Green, Cam Whitmore, Reed Shepherd, and Tari Eason to be bold enough to make this move.
In 2025 Jimmy declines his player option and signs a 3-year deal with the Rockets for 40 mil per year with a club option in 2027-2028.
Rockets extend DeAaron Fox in 2025 as well in which the new money would tack on in 2026.
WHY KINGS
Eating Fred VaVleet's contract, getting 2 role players, and 3 picks can work out for the Kings. Trading Fox, they would desperately need a co-star to pair with Sabonis. There's some quality talent in the 2025 NBA free agency. I can envision them in the conversation for players like Kuminga, Ingram, Kyrie, or even trying to get into some of the future potential trade conversations with their picks and cap space for a guy like Embiid. Who knows?...
WHY HEAT
With Jabari Smith being as versatile as he is to play 3-5, having him at SF/PF and the potential of Jabari, Bam, and Ware 3-5 is actually quite scary for opposing teams. That's a ton of length and versatility. While Ware develops and adjusts to the NBA though, you can insert Dillon Brooks at the 3, Jabari at the 4, and Bam at the 5. Marcus Sasser is an electric scoring guard who honestly just needs opportunities on the floor to grow. I also think that overall, Tyler Herro is really ready to take over. Getting a pick swap and an unprotected pick for Jimmy, who could just opt next year, is a good return. It's time to move on. I think all 3 guys that the Heat obtain here would be great for it's future. Especially with the swap opportunity and the unprotected pick. They also shed 14 million in cap space in this trade.
WHY DETROIT
Adding another center, specifically a pick-and-roll expert, and a shooter would never hurt the Cade Cunningham-led Pistons. Huerter hasn't been shooting it well this year but I think with legendary shooting coach, Fred Vinson, he'd be back to splashing his shots again in no time. The Pistons trade away Sasser, who has a ton of potential, but their focus is really on Cade and Ivey as lead guards. They also have a couple of guards in the G-League that they can call up in Daniss Jenkins and Alondes Williams. Fontecchio is a decent role player but I don't believe that they'd miss him.
