Bulls find a worthwhile reason to move on from the mediocrity that was the past core and start a rebuild. While Lavine, MIP candidate Coby White, starting center Vuc and physical specimen Torey Craig are no joke, the franchise turns in the right direction.
The Bulls recoup some value with a toolkit of (maybe overpaid) roleplayers from the lakers, a revamped Randle, room for Bulzelus, Ayo, Williams to command their attention, and 2 first rounders (one in ‘25) to soon join those guys.
LA will inject just as many minutes in the roleplayer spots as they lose with the hopeful return of Vando and inevitable arrival of Knecht in their offense. Some value they lost at PG is recouped by McBride, and ofc, they get a coveted third star in Lavine who might compliment their two star forwards as well as anyone on the market. Although they sell a lot, I imagine Bron will be happy to keep the likes of Reaves, AD will grateful they do not get any thinner at C.
The Knicks get a rising star backcourt compliment, or Star 6 man, in White to enhance the roster and inject more shot creation and ball handling into the team. Vuc may prove very valuable given Robinson’s injury history and the rest of the team’s size. While he isn’t getting any better with age, in an east occupied by Banchero, Antetetumpo, Embiid, Tatum+ porzingus, Allen+ Garland, at some point they just need a consistent, 7foot, body. Torey Craig and Blake Hinson, despite their less prominent use to the Knicks, ensure that roster doesn’t bottom out as quickly. Thibs should be more than happy to adopt two jacked two way dudes.
