IF The Hawks blow it up, IF, so we can skip the whole they pass take, it's only hypocritical & won't happen anyway. I still like Tyus, Kispert & Gafford though, another trade I did long ago that has been picking up traction on here & on Twitter by LakerTom. Reasons why the Lakers do this: Vando gives nothing on offense, Lakers already struggle on offense & he's no help, he can't even hit a 3 to save his life unless he get lucky, boy was wide open & has air balled it plenty or hit the side of the backboard. Gabe is great but you can say he's been horrible cause he hasn't been available, availability is the best skill. Prince hasn't done his job which is make 3's, he's had about 5 or so games out of 30+ that he did this job. Dlo has been the worst, he's way too inconsistent & the weakest on defense, It's crazy how he's fast with the ball in his hands but on defense he's so slow but yet this is supposed to be the year where he becomes a great defender he claimed, Vando is out there for defense which we know that but even still defense doesn't outweigh the fact that in order to win games you need to score at least one more point than your opponents & you can't do that if you can't put the ball in the hoop especially in a one-on-one matchup, but Vando CONSISTENTLY plays great defense but Dlo was supposed to be there as their third or fourth best player, he can't even do that consistently, he has been that sometimes but not consistent. At the start of the year he was looking real good but I knew it was only a matter of time for his inconsistencies kick in. JHS I would like to keep because he can become a two-way player like Christie or even better for all we know if they work with him which the Lakers don't do because they rather just stick with what they know then to develop talent, but if this gets them to make the deal I would do it if I'm the Lakers. Reasons why the Hawks do the trade is because IF they're blowing things up they need to start over, now with the Lakers assets they get from the trade they can do whatever which I'm assuming they are going to flip these players & see what they get & obviously use those draft picks to either develop stars or to trade for stars using some/all of the assets in this trade. So let's say the Hawks get two stars from those picks whether it's from the draft or by trade, that means they would have three stars which means two to go with Young instead of just DJ himself, that would be a upgrade & if Gabe manages to stay healthy, he would be a great addition to their team as well as if Prince actually hits shots for them consistently. Lakers starters PG. DJ SG. Bogi SF. LeBron PF. AD(plays his rightful position & stays more healthy without having to battle centers all the time) C. Wood Bench PG. Reaves SG. Christie SF. Bey PF. Rui C. Hayes That's a great 5 & a great bench. Only issue is Wood, as his defense isn't the best, nowhere near it, So 80 might have to come over to the center spot but allowing him to play power forward he can be a roamer & come help Wood on defense which has worked on various faces like OKC the second time.
This year is not focused on the Lakers because they got championship aspirations, whereas the Hawks are just trying to get into the playoffs & get to the second round. They don't have enough which is why they need to blow it up, Trae can't be your first/second best player, his defense isn't good & personally I wouldn't even put him over DJ because at least DJ is a two-way player, This deal would give the hawks to two first round picks that I've mentioned which they can do other things that I've mentioned up top I see it as a win-win but this is only if the Hawks want to blow it up & don't get some better deal out there because the Jazz got 5 FRPs for Gobert lol
